OUR STORY

Garage Fly Band & Garage Fly Radio

Garage Fly began as a band.

Garage Fly Radio became a legacy.

The Origin: Garage Fly (The Band)

Garage Fly was first created in the mid-1990s by Jukebox and his best friend Steve.

Their story began much earlier — on Halloween night in 1987 — when 11-year-old Jukebox met a 9-year-old named Steve through mutual friends. They clicked instantly, forming a bond that lasted a lifetime.

By the time they were teens, music had become their shared language. They formed a band and spent countless hours in Steve’s garage — rehearsing, laughing, dreaming, and doing what young musicians do best.

One rehearsal day in 1995, during a break with the garage doors open, a persistent fly kept landing on Steve’s guitar, then the microphone, then Jukebox’s. As they tossed around band name ideas, Steve — half amused, half irritated — finally said:

“Garage Fly.”

The name stuck.

It fit.

And Garage Fly — the band — was born.

Life eventually carried them in different directions: jobs, families, distance. But the friendship never faded. Every conversation felt like no time had passed at all — the kind of connection most people only hope to find once.

The Loss

In August 2022, Steve passed away.

The loss left a silence that words can’t fully explain.

But the name Steve created — and the memories tied to it — never disappeared.

The Legacy: Garage Fly Radio

In 2024, Jukebox, alongside Boz, revived the name Garage Fly — not as a band, but as something new.

Garage Fly Radio was created in honor of Steve’s life, creativity, and friendship.

What began in a garage became a radio station — a place where music, stories, and memories live on.

Garage Fly Radio is not a revival of the original band.

It is a tribute.

A legacy project.

A way to keep Steve’s spirit present through music and community.

What Garage Fly Radio Stands For

Garage Fly Radio represents:

• a promise between friends

• a name born from a small moment that meant everything

• the power of music to keep memories alive

• carrying on for someone who mattered

Garage Fly started in Steve’s garage.

Garage Fly Radio exists because love, memory, and music don’t disappear — they echo.

And this time, that echo is going places.

In Loving Memory of Steve — The Heartbeat of Garage Fly

Every great story begins with a spark.
Ours began with a friendship — the kind that lasts a lifetime.

Steve wasn’t just Jukebox’s best friend.
He was the brother life gave him. The one person who could turn an empty garage into a world of possibilities. The one who believed in the music, the laughter, the dreams — and in the name that would one day become our identity.

It was Steve who named Garage Fly.
In 1995, during a band practice break, a stubborn fly kept landing on their gear. With a grin and a spark of inspiration, Steve said the words that stayed with them forever:

“Garage Fly.”
Simple. Funny. Perfect.
A name born in a garage, lifted by friendship, and destined for something bigger.

Steve passed away in August 2022, but his spirit never left.
His laughter, his ideas, his creativity, and the bond he shared with Jukebox live inside every episode we produce and every project we create.

Garage Fly Radio exists because of him.
It is built in his honor, carried forward with love, and dedicated to keeping his spark alive.

To Steve —
for the music, the name, the memories, and the legacy that continues to fly.

You will always be part of this station.
Your name (Garage Fly) is on every broadcast.
Your presence lives in every moment.

Forever missed.
Forever honored.
Forever Garage Fly.

Meet the Garage Fly Radio Crew

Welcome to Garage Fly Radio — where heart meets hustle, music meets meaning, and every story has a comeback beat.

Born out of resilience and fueled by love, Garage Fly Radio was created by a duo who refused to give up, even when life threw its hardest punches. Joined by two unforgettable feline co-hosts, the Garage Fly family keeps the mic open, the laughter flowing, and the community connected.

 The Garage Fly Mission

At its core, Garage Fly Radio is about connection — the kind that comes from real talk, shared struggle, and the music that lifts us back up. Every episode is a reminder that no matter how tough life gets, you can always find your rhythm again.

Still flying. Still fighting. Still serving — one mic, one moment, one song at a time.

Jukebox – The Beat Behind the Brand

Known for his quick wit, deep musical knowledge, and unwavering spirit, Jukebox brings rhythm and grit to Garage Fly Radio. He’s the one who turns life’s chaos into anthems, spinning stories of comeback and community with the same ease he drops a killer track. A natural storyteller and connector, Jukebox believes music heals and laughter restores. Through every beat and broadcast, he reminds listeners that no matter how rough the road gets, you can always find your way back to the groove.

Boz – The Heart of Garage Fly Radio

Boz has lived a life shaped by resilience, service, and a love of bringing people together. From her early days training as a chef in Germany to co-founding Garage Fly Radio, she’s always believed that good things start when you share your story — and maybe a good meal, too. Boz carries that same warmth into the studio, blending honesty, humor, and heart in every episode. Whether she’s cooking up a new idea or sharing a hard-won lesson, she reminds listeners that strength is born in the moments when you refuse to stay down. Her motto? Still serving — this time, one mic at a time.

Azrael – The Voice for Change

Azrael is the newest member of the Garage Fly Radio crew, bringing passion, purpose, and the voice of a new generation. A recent high school graduate, he quickly became one of the station’s most-viewed hosts with his powerful special on facing life’s hardest moments and raising awareness about suicide prevention.

Driven by empathy and a deep sense of community, Azrael uses his platform to connect, uplift, and start real conversations that matter. His goal is to reach people where they are — to remind them they’re not alone and that small acts of kindness can create a ripple of hope.

At Garage Fly Radio, Azrael continues to lead with authenticity and heart, inspiring others to open up, reach out, and stand together through life’s challenges.

 Mr. Cisco – The Spirit

of Garage Fly Radio

Mrs. Schatzi may be new to the mic, but she’s already stolen the show. With her bold personality and habit of chiming in mid-recording, she brings the perfect mix of sass and sweetness to Garage Fly Radio. Whether she’s voicing her opinions on-air or curling up beside the console, Schatzi keeps the team smiling and the studio lively. Often featured alongside Mr. Cisco in our artwork, she carries on his legacy of warmth and companionship — proving that every great broadcast needs a little feline flair.

Cisco- Every great station needs a soul, and for Garage Fly Radio, that was Mr. Cisco. From the earliest shows, Cisco made himself part of the broadcast — stretched out across Boz’s lap, purring through late-night edits, and never missing a beat. He wasn’t just a mascot; he was family, a steady reminder of comfort, loyalty, and love. Though he’s now crossed the Rainbow Bridge, his spirit still hums beneath every episode, and his image continues to grace much of our artwork. Cisco remains our honorary mascot — the silent co-host who reminds us that some hearts never really leave the airwaves.
